Education:

A bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.

Experience:

At least three years of experience designing and supporting servers.

Certifications:

Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or MCSE.

Technical Skills:

Expertise in automation solutions, diagnostics, and troubleshooting.

Soft Skills:

Strong communication skills, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work well in a team.

Strong ability to analyze error messages, identify patterns, and quickly respond to incidents to minimize downtime.

 

Other Qualifications for a Server Engineer Include: 

Proficiency in network management and troubleshooting.

Experience with firewall, router, and switch configuration.

Knowledge of security best practices and tools.

Experience with cloud services and solutions. Familiarity with the main public offerings, such as Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and IBM Cloud.

Knowledge of data center/IT room design and management.

Experience with virtualization technologies, scripting with PowerShell and Ansible, Citrix XenDesktop and VDI Solutions, patching tools, and security vulnerability scanning.
